The Waikiki Banyan is a favorite of repeat visitors with its host of amenities including a pool, hot tubs, BBQ area, and more. All this and just a short 2-block walk to beautiful Waikiki Beach, plus shops, restaurants, the Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium, and Kapiolani Park! Public transportation is readily available, with stops located right outside the building on Kuhio Avenue.
*BUILDING NOTE: The entire recreation deck, including pool, hot tubs, and BBQ area, will be closed for renovations from April 7, 2025–June 30, 2026. Work hours will be restricted to 8am–5pm, Monday–Friday. Noise is expected. Work dates are subject to change without notice due to unforeseen circumstances. We apologize for the inconvenience and will make every effort to ensure that your stay is as comfortable as possible.

No Pets, No Parties, No Smoking/Vaping (including in the condo, on the balcony/lanai, or in any of the building's public spaces). Violations are subject to a $500 fine, plus actual costs for odor removal or if anything needs replacement due to tar, ashes, or burns.

Great Condo! Awesome Location!

This is the 2nd condo we’ve rented in the Waikiki Banyan. By far it’s the best rental so far. The condo was exactly the way it was advertised. The layout of the condo made it very spacious, super comfortable & very clean. The kitchen is well stocked with everything. The start-up supplies were generous. King bed very comfortable. Great drawer and closet space with lots of hangers! Extra towels! Lots of extras...beach chairs, boogie board, cooler, pop-up shade, etc. Most important feature was having a parking included with the condo. We notified the property manager regarding a couple of things that need to be looked at/fixed. Toilet leaked, the bathroom electrical outlet was loose (i.e. when unplugging the hairdryer, the outlet cover would come away from the wall & the shower handle and kitchen sink faucet were loose, really wonky. We were very careful using these items, but they definitely need to be checked before the condo is booked again. We checked on the toilet leak before going bed. As senior citizens, we wanted to make sure the bathroom floor was dry in case we had a potty visit in the middle of the night. There were repairs going on the property. Unfortunately, one of the repairs caused a false fire alarm. Good thing...there is a speaker in the condo that alerted us to evacuate. Bad thing...walking down 15 flights of stairs. Guess better down than up! Last but least, there was a key left on the kitchen island. But there were no instructions about what it was for. Found out the hard way. Returning to condo very late, we found ourselves lock out of the building. Walked down 5 parking levels to the security guard station & found out what the key was for. None of these mishaps would have been deal breakers. We totally enjoyed our stay & we would definitely stay there again!

Condo was fairly clean, but furniture could use an upgrade. The king bed was really uncomfortable (very hard on back). Found mouldy coffee grounds in coffee maker, needed to buy vinegar to give a deep clean. But overall it was great to have a beautiful view of the mountains.The elevators were very busy, kinda a pain getting up and down.

Great condo and location

It was clean and well stocked with linens and kitchen items. The Banyon was a nice complex and we loved the pool hot tub and play structure. We hope to return someday. We recommend this rental.

The kitchen was well stocked. And the location was very convenient to the beach and the main Waikiki resort area without being right in the busy area.
The service from the property managers at Captain Cook Resorts was prompt, friendly, and had everything set-up for an easy check-in and check-out experience. After staying in numerous AirBnbs, having professionals who truly know how to manage a condo and anticipate guest needs was a wonderful experience.

The host was very accommodating with our late arrival . The condo was beautiful with a view to mountain and we could literally see the dorms from our window . We didn’t plan that at all. The host left very clear instructions and we totally felt welcomed . The bed was very comfortable and the condo was very clean. We can’t wait to go back to visit our girl and enjoy the beauty that Hawaii has to offer.

Spectacular view

It was minimally stocked, even for cleaning supplies. The building itself was perfectly located, near the park, beach, bus lines and rental bikes. The elevators were very slow and often out of service. One night we waited 30 minutes. Over all a good place.

The manager was really easy to contact, however we did have a few issues with the property that weren’t fixed during our stay. It was never followed up which made the stay okay, but could’ve been better if they were addressed. I’d recommend the unit to friends/family as it’s really near a lot of things.

Had a great time but not totally satisfied.
MONTROSE, United States, July 16, 2021 Stayed for 5 days in July 2021the Unit was very clean and in a great location. The only issue was we had no wifi and tv for our entire stay. Even though our property manager was always in communication with us about it, the issue was never fixed. Also, he had informed us that the faucet in the bath tub was broken so the water was constantly running and that was also not fixed while we were there. I have rented other properties from this company before and had no issues. Unfortunately, this time we didn't get a 5 star unit.

A wonderful stay at beautiful Waikiki
Brian S. from Sydney, AU, November 18, 2020 Stayed for 4 days in October 2019This was our first trip to Hawaii - partly a business trip. We didn't think we would ever choose Hawaii as a place to visit as we are from Australia and have some of the best beaches in the world.
How wrong were we! We loved Waikiki, the people were so laid back and friendly, the shops, the lovely eateries. The sunset cocktails over the beach. And of course the drive up the North Shore was so picturesque and reminded us of our own north shore beaches in Sydney. We were lucky enough to see huge waves on the pipeline - we have only ever seen such massive tubes on television competitions.
Our accommodation was excellent - we actually had a self contained apartment with a mountain view towards Diamond Head and was very close to the beach and all facilities. I would recommend Waikiki Banyan highly.
We would come back in a heart beat, but sadly Covid is preventing us leaving OZ.

Home Away From Home
Marion K. from Wetaskiwin, Canada, March 15, 2020 Stayed for 15 days in February 2020We enjoyed our stay very much. The condo was clean and comfortable with a view of the Ko’olau Mountains. We seen many rainstorms coming over the mountains. Close to the ocean , we were able to walk to Safeway for our groceries.
We had a couple of nights with tepid water to shower, the burner had gone, but the maintenance staff worked endlessly on it to fix the situation. The problem was fixed and hot showers once again.
Alpha Cabs are always parked out in front, we used a gentleman named Raymond Young who is a very friendly man and very reasonable.

Light bulb missing in sofa lamp, back of toilet missing ( a little gross). Toilet was leaking. Air conditioner was noisy and the front did not stay on. Maintenance could have been better.

A nice place to stay

The curtains/windows need dusting, but the bed was comfortable & the location was great. The property manager was very friendly. I'd recommend this property. Great Cable TV, (Very) Super Fast WiFi.

Two Weeks Chillaxing
Mark H. from Maupuia, New Zealand, June 10, 2019 Stayed for 14 days in May 2019Waikiki Banyan was our base for our recent 2 week stay. What a great choice this was! Brilliant location for access to central Waikiki for beaches, shopping and restaurants.
The condo was comfortable and spacious and well set up for our stay. The property manager was extremely helpful and accommodating. We arrived on a morning flight but we were able to get early access so could start relaxing immediately.
We rented a car for 5 days and parking was provided as part of the package. This was simple and so cost effective.
We will use this facility and Captain Cook again.

Fun in Waikiki

Easy access to freeway when checking out the rest of the island. Room is as described, bed is comfortable, and everything was clean. Loved that we had free WiFi and parking. We would stay here again. Only thing we didn't "love" was the pool. It was smaller than we realized, and they don't allow for floaties, which was a bummer for our son. Still highly recommend.

Waikiki Banyan

santa barbara, United States, September 13, 2018 Stayed for 4 days in September 2018Condo was adequate for our needs. Kitchen well stocked except for measuring utensils. We brought coffee filters and ziplocks. Nothing provided in the kitchen such as salt and pepper. No napkins, but laundry detergent, garbage bags, paper towels, dish soap all there. Not very well decorated - didn't really feel like we were in Hawaii. the building is 38 stories! Management was on top of things when we had a request. I would suggest new sheets. The pillows were awful, but we were provided with new ones right away. We walked to almost everything in Waikiki from here.

After 30 minutes and numerous unanswered phone calls to our guest service agent and Captain Cook Resorts local and toll free number my call was finally answered. Once we were finally able to check in we have no complaints. The condo was clean and in a great location. I would recommend this property.

Mtn View Great location
Los Alamitos, United States, June 12, 2018 Stayed for 4 days in June 2018Unit was as described with great mountain view. Newly remodeled with very convenient location. One suggestion is that the reception desk allow printingof boarding passes. It was very inconvenient to not be able to print a boarding pass at the location you are staying. In this case I was not able to view if I was given a pre-TSA ticket which would have saved time not leaving for the airport as early. Some type of accomodation would be nice to allow guests. Also no information was given as to where to deposit trash upon leaving. Yet these are small inconveniences, the unit was very nice. Unit was very clean and in very good condition but overall building could use some updating.

Univ Hawaii Graduation Stay
Leigh M. from San Jose, United States, May 26, 2018 Stayed for 13 days in May 2018What a delightful stay in this clean and bright unit! Our 2 weeks in Waikiki was perfect for the 3 of us. Love the Banyan's free parking, easy access to beach, H-1/Ali Wai, university and family feel. While common areas are somewhat dated, this unit is newly renovated with tasteful decor, tile floors, granite countertops and comfy bed. Location on 20th floor was quiet and east-facing was cool in the afternoons. Good a/c and ceiling fan. Plenty of clean towels for bathroom and beach. No dishwasher was no problem for us - kitchen well equipped, but will need a shopping trip for supplies for a longer stay. Property manager was in good communication with us, offering assistance, but we had no problems at all!
